Dannaā€™s Tips for Success: Real Wildcats, Real Advice

How will I make friends? What will I do outside of class? How will I find help when I need it?

These are all questions you might be asking yourself as you prepare to start college at °µTV. Fortunately, thereā€™s one main thing you can do to set yourself up for success: get involved.

ā€œI joined a bunch of student organizations the moment I stepped foot on campus,ā€ says Danna Hernandez, a management information systems and global business major.

Danna, a self-proclaimed ā€œdata nerd,ā€ made a spreadsheet of all her potential college choices before choosing °µTV. Since becoming a Wildcat, she has participated in numerous student clubs and organizations at the university. She has also founded the , an organization that provides resources and mentorship to first-year pre-business students.

She credits her involvement for her success and encourages future students to follow in her footsteps.

ā€œThe best thing you can do to feel comfortable and like you have your ā€˜home away from homeā€™ is to go meet like-minded or a diverse group of people,ā€ she says. ā€œIā€™m still learning about so many different facilities that can help me be as successful as I can be.ā€
